Biography of Noreen Mohammad Siddiq

Noreen Mohammad Siddiq (1982–2020) was a Sudanese Quran reciter, born in the village of Al-Farajab, near Bara, in Kordofan. He served as imam of several major mosques in Khartoum, including the Khartoum Grand Mosque and the Al-Nour Mosque, and recited in the riwayat of Hafs and Al-Duri from Abu Amr. He represented Sudan in international Quran recitation competitions, notably in Malaysia, Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Libya. He died in November 2020 in a road accident near Omdurman.
