Meaning of the name Tala
Tala is a recent girls’ name, very fashionable in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the Gulf. Its origin is not certain: it is most often linked to tala, which some lexicographers give as a young palm shoot, the offshoot that is replanted; other meanings attributed to it (“star”, “gazelle”) have no support. It does not occur in the Quran.
