جُمَان
Juman: meaning of the name
Girl Arabic origin Jumān
“Silver pearls”, beads shaped like pearls; by extension, “pearls”
Meaning of the name Juman
Juman means silver pearls, beads shaped like pearls: al-Jawhari defines jumana as “a bead made of silver, like a pearl”, and Ibn Manzur considers the word an old borrowing from Persian. Poets used it for the pearl itself: Labid compares an antelope shining in the night to the diver’s jumana whose string has come undone. The name and its singular Jumana (Joumana) are given in the Middle East and the Gulf.
