The noun inas is not in the Quran, but its verb is, in the story of Musa: “I have perceived (anastu) a fire; perhaps I can bring you a brand from it” (20:10, 28:29), and about orphans: “if you perceive (anastum) maturity in them, hand over their property to them” (4:6).
Meaning of the name Ines
Inas is the verbal noun of anasa: “to keep company, to put at ease” (root ʾ-n-s of familiarity, uns), and also “to perceive, to catch sight of”. The name Inès, very popular in France, has a double origin: it is also the Spanish form of Agnes, from Greek hagne, “pure, chaste”. North African families often understand it as Arabic Inas.
When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance."
And when Moses had completed the term and was traveling with his family, he perceived from the direction of the mount a fire. He said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire. Perhaps I will bring you from there [some] information or burning wood from the fire that you may warm yourselves."
And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allāh as Accountant.
