Biography of Mohamed Sayed

Mohamed Sayed, an ambitious Moroccan reciter

Mohamed Sayed is regarded as one of the leading Quranic voices of the Kingdom of Morocco. He achieved success through his own means, with the support of several religious institutions and bodies in Morocco. Born on May 11, 1986, he showed a natural inclination to study the Holy Quran and learn its rules. Thanks to his determination and perseverance, he went on to achieve success and renown both in Morocco and across the Arab world.

His study of the rules of memorizing and reciting the Holy Quran, together with his grasp of some of the disciplines of exegesis, helped him achieve fine accomplishments both intellectually and professionally. In this regard, Mohamed Sayed took part in a number of national and international competitions devoted to the memorization and tajweed of the Holy Quran. He won the Mohammed VI International Prize for the Memorization, Recitation, Tajweed and Exegesis of the Holy Quran at its eighth edition, in 1434 AH / 2013 CE, and took first place in the category of full memorization of the Quran with recitation and exegesis.

In recognition of his vocal talent and his mastery of the memorization, recitation and exegesis of the Holy Quran, Mohamed Sayed has held various positions, particularly as an imam; today he leads the prayer at a mosque in Casablanca. To honor his efforts in this field, the Mohammed VI Foundation recorded a complete recitation of the Quran in his voice in the Warsh narration from Nafi’, through the path of Abu Ya’qub al-Azraq. This recording has met with considerable success and is shared on several websites.
