Shekh Mahmud Ali Albanna's recitation used to be released through the outdoor mics of one of the masjids in our neighborhood(@Arab-genda Mesjid, Dessie, Ethiopia) every Jumaa morning for so many years. He reminds me that.
He is one of reciters who help children attached to Quraan in Habasha. I remember his Audio cassets released every Jumaa morning in our mosque to remind people of Jumaa to inspire us so that we attend Jumaa early.Yerhamuhullah.
May Allah cover Sheikh Mahmoud Ali al-Banna with His mercy and grace. As a reciter of the Holy Qur'an, al-Banna was unsurpassed in the beautiful rendition with which he ended his ayats. I will never forget his Murattal reading of Surat al-Ma'idah, al-'Araf, An'am, and Isra'. He and Mustapha Isma'il were the best Qur'an recites the world had ever seen. May the blessings of Allah be upon them.
I'm afraid to evaluate his recitation I can definately say what we need is regular recitation of Furqon. Actually all of them is a gift of Allah subhana va ta'ala for us! Just listen, repeat, recite, memomorise!!!
Feriha daughter of Mensur MashAllah may Allah give endless reward to this reciter. Mashallah not only is it recited beautifully it is recited in an eloquent manner it is slow enough for learning. "Our Rabb, do not let our hearts deviate after you have guided us, and grant is Your own Mercy; You are the Granter of bounties without measure."3:8
