Biography of Khaled Yousef Al Juhaym

Khaled Yousef Al Juhaym, a unique reciter with a distinctive style

His moving voice stirs hearts and captivates souls; his sweet recitation enthralls the mind and sets it alight. His articulation of the letters is flawless and his command of the rules of recitation is sound, and with remarkable ease and striking fluency he carries his listeners into worlds of purity and clarity, of humility and devotion. This is the Kuwaiti reciter Sheikh Khaled Yousef Al Juhaym, who was born on April 10, 1986, in Kuwait.

In addition to his outstanding talent for reciting and chanting the Book of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, and his skill in Islamic religious nasheeds, this distinguished reciter holds a bachelor’s degree in comparative jurisprudence and Sharia-based governance from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Kuwait University.

Thanks to his talent and his academic and scholarly training, he was appointed by Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs as imam of several mosques in the country: the Muhammad ibn al-Hanafiyyah Mosque in Al-Adan, the Al-Rashed Mosque in Adailiya, and the Jaber Al-Ali Mosque in South Surra, before moving to the Ibn al-Mundhir Mosque in Mubarak Al-Kabeer. He is currently an imam at the Grand Mosque of Kuwait.

Sheikh Khaled Yousef Al Juhaym has also served as an imam abroad, leading Muslims in Tarawih prayers in various mosques around the world, most notably the New York mosque and several mosques in Bahrain. He also has a variety of Quran recordings, some published online and others broadcast on Arab and Islamic radio and television channels, all of them admired and appreciated by listeners near and far.
