Our method and disclaimers
What you will find in this section, how positions are reported, and what we do not do.
What the section offers
Answers to practical questions, the fundamentals and contracts, calculation tools and dated directories. Everything is free, with no account, and calculations run in your browser.
Texts are written from the resolutions, standards and fatwas cited, and are reviewed. Verses come from the site’s Qur’an text and hadiths from its database, with their grading.
How we report positions
- Every position is attributed to its author: institution, resolution or fatwa number, date.
- Positions are shown side by side, including when they disagree, and we say where most institutions stand when that is the case.
- We give no verdict of our own: the coloured badge sums up the institution’s position, not Assabile’s.
- When the answer depends on the country (laws, available products, local institutions), we say so.
- For a personal case, nothing replaces a qualified scholar who knows your situation.
- Prohibited the institution prohibits the practice as described.
- Under conditions permitted only if specific conditions are met.
- Permitted the institution accepts it.
- No decision the institution studied the question without settling it, or postponed it.
- Divided views the institution’s texts or members disagree.
