Biography of Hossein Bousseksso

Hossein Bousseksso is one of the young bearers of the Book of Allah. He is known for his mastery of the Moroccan way of reciting the Holy Quran, according to Warsh from Nafi’, as well as for the distinctive quality of his voice when he recites.

The reciter Hossein Bousseksso was born in 1983 in Marrakech, the Red City, where he grew up and received a traditional Islamic education, studying under a number of Moroccan sheikhs well known in the region.

Sheikh Hossein Bousseksso began his journey of learning the Quran at a Dar al-Quran (Quranic school) on the outskirts of Marrakech, before joining the Dar al-Quran in the Al-Mhamid district, where he recited to Sheikh Abdelhaq Fadli, who granted him an ijaza in the two narrations of Warsh and Hafs.

After graduating from the Dar al-Quran, Sheikh Bousseksso was appointed imam of one of the mosques near Jemaa el-Fna Square in Marrakech.
