أنَّ أبا بَكرٍ رَضيَ اللهُ عنه لَمَّا استُخلِفَ بَعَثَه إلى البَحرَينِ وكَتَبَ له هذا الكِتابَ، وخَتَمَه بخاتَمِ النَّبيِّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّم، وكان نَقشُ الخاتَمِ ثَلاثةَ أسطُرٍ: (مُحَمَّدٌ) سَطرٌ، و(رَسولُ): سَطرٌ، و(اللهِ): سَطرٌ.
