حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ لاَ يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ شَوْكَةٌ فَمَا فَوْقَهَا إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهَا دَرَجَةً وَحَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهَا خَطِيئَةً ‏"

Aishah narrated that:

The Messenger of Allah said: "The believer is not afflicted by the prick of a thorn or what is worse (or greater) than that, except that by it Allah raises him in rank and removes sin from him."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( شَوْكَةٌ ) بِالْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ فِي الْفَارِسِيَّةِ خَارَ ( فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ) يُمْكِنُ أَنْ يُرَادَ بِهِ مَا هُوَ فَوْقَهَا فِي الصِّغَرِ وَالْقِلَّةِ فَيَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَا هُوَ أَقَلُّ مِنْهَا أَوْ مَا هُوَ فَوْقَهَا فِي الْكِبَرِ وَالتَّأَلُّمِ فَيَرْجِعُ إِلَى مَا هُوَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْهَا , وَقَدْ فَسَرُّوا بِالْوَجْهَيْنِ قَوْلَهُ تَعَالَى : { إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِ أَنْ يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا } وَالْمَعْنَى الْأَوَّلُ أُنْسَبُ وَأَفْيَدُ قَالَهُ أَبُو الطَّيِّبِ السِّنْدِيُّ. قَوْلُهُ : ( وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَأَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَأَنَسٍ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْ…

Narrated by Ā’ishah

Authentic Sahih Muslim 2572b

A believer does not receive (the trouble) of running a thorn or more than that but Allah elevates him in rank or effaces his sins because of that.
