حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يُوتِرُ بِثَلاَثٍ يَقْرَأُ فِيهِنَّ بِتِسْعِ سُوَرٍ مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ يَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ بِثَلاَثِ سُوَرٍ آخِرُهُنَّْ ‏‏(‏قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ‏)‏ ‏.‏

Ali narrated:

"Allah's Messenger would perform Al-Witr with three, reciting nine Surah from the Mufassal in them, reciting three Surah in each Rak'ah with Say: "Allah is One." At the end of them."Muhammad bin Sirin said: "They would perform Al-Witr with five, with three, and with one Rak'ah, and they considered all of that to be good."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( عَنْ الْحَارِثِ ) هُوَ اِبْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَعْوَرِ صَاحِبُ عَلِيٍّ أَحَدِ كِبَارِ الشِّيعَةِ قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ وَابْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ كَذَّابٌ. قَوْلُهُ : ( يَقْرَأُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ بِثَلَاثِ سُوَرٍ آخِرُهُنَّ ( { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } ) زَادَ فِي مُسْنَدِ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ شَيْخُ أَحْمَدَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى " أَلْهَاكُمْ التَّكَاثُرُ , وَإِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ وَإِذَا زُلْزِلَتْ الْأَرْضُ " , وَفِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ : " وَالْعَصْرِ , وَإِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ , وَإِنَّا أَعْطَيْنَاك الْكَوْثَرَ " , وَفِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ : " قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَتَبَّتْ يَدَا أَبِي ل…

‘Ali said that God’s Messenger used to pray three rak'as when observing the witr, reciting nine suras from al-Mufassal in the course of them, three in each rak'a, the last of them being “Say, He is God, One” (Al-Qur’an; 112). Tirmidhi transmitted it.
