حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ الزَّيَّاتِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

كَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرَ أَحَدًا فَدَعَا لَهُ بَدَأَ بِنَفْسِهِ ‏

Ibn `Abbas narrated from Ubayy bin Ka`b that :

whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would mention someone and supplicate for him, he would begin with himself (ﷺ).

قَوْلُهُ : ( حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْكُوفِيُّ ) قَالَ الْحَافِظُ صَوَابُهُ اِبْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهُوَ الْوَشَّاءُ ( حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ ) بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ اِسْمُهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ قَطَنٍ الْقَطْعِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثِقَةٌ مِنْ صِغَارِ التَّاسِعَةِ مَاتَ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْمِائَتَيْنِ ( عَنْ حَمْزَةَ الزَّيَّاتِ ) هُوَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْقَارِي أَبُو عِمَارَةَ الْكُوفِيُّ التَّيْمِيُّ مَوْلَاهُمْ صَدُوقٌ زَاهِدٌ رُبَّمَا وَهَمَ قَالَهُ الْحَافِظُ فِي التَّقْرِيبِ , وَقَالَ فِي تَهْذِيبِ التَّهْذِيبِ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مَنْجَوَيْهِ كَانَ مِنْ عُلَمَاءِ زَمَانِهِ بِالْقِرَاءَاتِ , وَكَانَ مِنْ خِيَارِ عِبَادِ اللَّهِ فَضْلًا وَعِبَادَةً وَوَرَعًا وَنُسُكًا…

Ubayy b. Ka‘b said that when God’s messenger mentioned anyone for whom he made supplication, he began with himself. Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a hasan gharib sahih tradition.
