حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ، عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيَّ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّهُ

أَصَابَهُمْ جُوعٌ فَأَعْطَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم تَمْرَةً تَمْرَةً ‏.‏

Abu 'Uthman An-Nahdi narrated from Abu Hurairah that they (the Companions) were suffering from hunger so the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) gave them each a date."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ) هُوَ الْمَعْرُوفُ بِغُنْدَرٍ ( عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْجَرِيرِيِّ ) بِضَمِّ الْجِيمِ مُصَغَّرًا. وَعَبَّاسٌ هَذَا هُوَ اِبْنُ فَرُّوخٍ بِفَتْحِ الْفَاءِ وَتَشْدِيدِ الرَّاءِ وَآخِرَهُ مُعْجَمَةٌ الْبَصْرِيُّ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ثِقَةٌ مِنْ السَّادِسَةِ ( سَمِعْت أَبَا عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيَّ ) اِسْمُهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَلٍّ , بِلَامٍ ثَقِيلَةٍ وَالْمِيمُ مُثَلَّثَةٌ مَشْهُورٌ بِكُنْيَتِهِ , مُخَضْرَمٌ مِنْ كِبَارِ الثَّالِثَةِ ثِقَةٌ ثَبَتٌ عَابِدٌ , وَالنَّهْدِيُّ بِفَتْحِ النُّونِ وَسُكُونِ الْهَاءِ. قَوْلُهُ : ( أَنَّهُمْ أَصَابَهُمْ ) أَيْ الصَّحَابَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمْ ( جُوعٌ ) أَيْ شَدِيدٌ قَالَ الْقَارِي : وَالظَّاهِرُ أَن…

The Prophet (ﷺ) distributed dates among us, and my share was five dates, four of which were good, and one was a ,Hashafa, and I found the Hashafa the hardest for my teeth.

قَسَمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَيْنَنَا تَمْرًا فَأَصَابَنِي مِنْهُ خَمْسٌ أَرْبَعُ تَمَرَاتٍ وَحَشَفَةٌ، ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ الْحَشَفَةَ هِيَ أَشَدُّهُنَّ لِضِرْسِي‏.‏
