حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَرْطَاةَ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ الْحَيَوَانُ اثْنَانِ بِوَاحِدٍ لاَ يَصْلُحُ نَسِيئًا وَلاَ بَأْسَ بِهِ يَدًا بِيَدٍ ‏"

Narrated Jabir:

That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Animals [two for one] are not proper on credit, and there is no harm in a hand to hand (exchange)."

The Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Reported by At-Tirmidhi (No. 1238).

قَوْلُهُ : ( الْحَيَوَانُ اِثْنَانِ فَوَاحِدٌ لَا يَصْلُحُ نَسِيئًا ) تَمَسَّكَ بِهِ مَنْ مَنَعَ بَيْعَ الْحَيَوَانِ بِالْحَيَوَانِ مُتَفَاضِلًا نَسِيئًا. قَوْلُهُ : ( هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ) فِي سَنَدِهِ الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ وَهُوَ صَدُوقٌ كَثِيرُ الْخَطَأِ وَالتَّدْلِيسِ. وَرُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ بِالْعَنْعَنَةِ.…

Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Said ibn al-Musayyab that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade bartering live animals for meat.
