حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الأَحْمَرُ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ مَخْرَمَةَ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏

"‏ لاَ يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى رَجُلاً أَوِ امْرَأَةً فِي الدُّبُرِ ‏"

Ibn ‘Abbās (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"Allah does not look at a man who approaches a man or a woman anally."

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) clarified the severe consequences for the man who approaches a man or a woman anally, as Allah will not look with mercy upon him, and he pointed out that it is one of the major sins.

Lessons

  • Having sexual intercourse with another man - which is sodomy - is of the major sins.
  • Having anal intercourse with a woman is a major sin.
  • (Allah does not look), i.e., with mercy and compassion, the general look is not meant here because nothing is hidden from Allah Almighty and nothing escapes His sight.
  • These acts are among the gravest and most dangerous immoralities for humanity because they contradict the natural sound human disposition, reduce procreation, ruin marital life, sow hatred and enmity, and involve engaging in repulsive and filthy acts.

Explanation in Arabic

بَيَّنَ النبيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الوعيدَ الشديدَ بأنَّ الله لا ينظر نظرةَ رحمةٍ إلى رجلٍ أتى رجلًا في دُبُرِهِ أو امرأة في دُبُرها، وأنه كبيرة من كبائر الذنوب.

  • إتيان الرجلِ الرجلَ -وهو اللواط- من كبائر الذنوب.
  • إتيان المرأة في دبرها من كبائر الذنوب.
  • (لا ينظر الله) أي نظر رحمة ورأفة، وليس المراد به: النظر العام؛ لأن الله سبحانه وتعالى لا يخفى عليه شيء ولا يغيب عن بصره شيء.
  • هذه الأعمال من أعظم الفواحش وأخطرها على البشرية؛ لما فيها من مخالفة الفطرة البشرية السليمة، وقلة النسل، وإفساد الحياة الزوجية، وغرس العداوة والبغضاء، والوقوع في الأماكن المستقذرة.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "Allah will not look at a man who has intercourse with a man or a woman through the anus." [Reported by at-Tirmidhi, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Hibban, but it was considered to be defective for being Mawquf (saying of a Companion, i.e. Ibn 'Abbas)].

Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “God will not look at a man who has intercourse with a man or a woman through the anus.” Tirmidhi transmitted it.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى رَجُلٍ أَتَى رَجُلًا أَوِ امْرَأَةً فِي الدبر» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
