حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمُهَزَّمِ، قَالَ صَحِبْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏

"‏ مَنْ تَبِعَ جَنَازَةً وَحَمَلَهَا ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَدْ قَضَى مَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْ حَقِّهَا ‏"

Abu Muhazzim said:

"I accompanied Abu Hurairah for ten years, and I heard him saying: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: "Whoever follows a funeral, and carries it three times, then he has fulfilled the right that is required from him."

Al-Mubarakfuri — Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi

قَوْلُهُ : ( أَخْبَرَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ) بِفَتْحِ الرَّاءِ وَسُكُونِ الْوَاوِ ثِقَةٌ فَاضِلٌ لَهُ تَصَانِيفُ مِنْ التَّاسِعَةِ ( سَمِعْت أَبَا الْمُهَزَّمِ ) قَالَ فِي الْمُغْنِي : بِمَضْمُومَةٍ وَفَتْحِ هَاءٍ وَفَتْحِ زَايٍ مُشَدَّدَةٍ وَهُوَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ اِنْتَهَى. وَقَالَ فِي التَّقْرِيبِ : بِتَشْدِيدِ الزَّايِ الْمَكْسُورَةِ التَّمِيمِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ اِسْمُهُ يَزِيدُ وَقِيلَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ مَتْرُوكٌ مِنْ الثَّالِثَةِ. قَوْلُهُ : ( وَحَمَلَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ) قَالَ اِبْنُ الْمَلَكِ : يَعْنِي يُعَاوِنُ الْحَامِلِينَ فِي الطَّرِيقِ ثُمَّ يَتْرُكُهَا لِيَسْتَرِيحَ ثُمَّ يَحْمِلُهَا فِي بَعْضِ الطَّرِيقِ يَفْعَلُ كَذَلِكَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ( فَقَدْ قَضَ…

“ ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: ‘Whoever follows a funeral (procession), let him carry all (four) corners of it (in turn), for that is Sunnah. Then if he wishes let him voluntarily carry it, and if he wishes let him not do so.’”

مَنِ اتَّبَعَ جِنَازَةً فَلْيَحْمِلْ بِجِوَانِبِ السَّرِيرِ كُلِّهَا فَإِنَّهُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَتَطَوَّعْ وَإِنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَدَعْ ‏.‏
