Chapter: Prohibition of Procrastinating by a Rich Person to Fulfill his Obligation

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏"‏مطل الغني ظلم وإذا أُتبع أحدكم على مليء فليتبع‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏.‏ معنى ‏"‏أتبع‏"‏‏:‏ أحيل‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "It is an act of oppression on the part of a person to procrastinate in fulfilling his obligation; if the repayment of a debt due to any of you is undertaken by a rich person, you should agree to the substitution."

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Procrastination (delay) in paying debts by a wealthy man is injustice. So, if your debt is transferred from your debtor to a rich debtor, you should agree."

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Procrastination in payment of a debt by a rich man is injustice, but when one of you is referred for payment to a wealthy man, let him be referred."

مَطْلُ الْغَنِيِّ ظُلْمٌ وَإِذَا أُتْبِعَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى مَلِيءٍ فَلْيَتْبَعْ ‏"
