أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلاَلٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏

"‏ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنْ صَلاَةٍ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ يَقْضِي مَا فَاتَهُ ‏"

It was narrated from Salim that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Whoever catches up with a Rak'ah of one of the prayers has caught up with it, except that he has to make up the portion that he missed."

Authentic Sahih al-Bukhari 556

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If anyone of you can get one rak`a of the `Asr prayer before sunset, he should complete his prayer. If any of you can get one rak`a of the Fajr prayer before sunrise, he should complete his prayer."

إِذَا أَدْرَكَ أَحَدُكُمْ سَجْدَةً مِنْ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَلْيُتِمَّ صَلاَتَهُ، وَإِذَا أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنْ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَلْيُتِمَّ صَلاَتَهُ ‏"

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 1412

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone is in time for a rak‘a in the prayer along with the imam he has said the whole prayer.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ مَعَ الإِمَام فقد أدْرك الصَّلَاة كلهَا "

Authentic Sahih Muslim 609

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: He who finds a prostration before sunset or at dawn (prayer) before the rising (of the sun) he in fact finds that (prayer), and prostration implies a rak'ah.

مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ سَجْدَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ مِنَ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَالسَّجْدَةُ إِنَّمَا هِيَ الرَّكْعَةُ ‏.‏
