لاَ تَبِيعُوا الثَّمَرَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ، وَلاَ تَبِيعُوا الثَّمَرَ بِالتَّمْرِ ‏"

Do not buy fruits (on the trees) until their good condition becomes clear.

لاَ تَبِيعُوا الثَّمَرَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ ‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

Do not buy the fruit until their condition is clear, and do not buy the fresh dates. A hadith like this has been reported by Ibn 'Umar through another chain of transmitters.

لاَ تَبْتَاعُوا الثَّمَرَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ وَلاَ تَبْتَاعُوا الثَّمَرَ بِالتَّمْرِ ‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

"Do not sell fruits until their condition is known. And he forbade (both) the seller and the purchaser (to engage in such a transaction).

"‏ لاَ تَبِيعُوا الثَّمَرَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ نَهَى الْبَائِعَ وَالْمُشْتَرِيَ ‏.‏

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do not sell fruits until their condition is known, and do not sell fresh dates (still on the tree) for dried dates."' Ibn Shihab said: "Salim bin 'Abdullah narrated to me, from his father: 'That Allah's Messenger forbade from ..." similarly.

"‏ لاَ تَبِيعُوا الثَّمَرَ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ صَلاَحُهُ وَلاَ تَبْتَاعُوا الثَّمَرَ بِالتَّمْرِ ‏"

Narrated by Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the sale of grapes till they become black (i.e. ripe) and the sale of grain till it becomes hard (i.e. ripe). [Reported by al-Khamsah except an-Nasa'i and graded Sahih (authentic) by Ibn Hibban and al-Hakim].

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade selling fruit until it had started to ripen. He forbade the transaction to both buyer and seller.
