Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، وَمَالِكٍ، وَابْنِ، جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لاِبْنِ عُمَرَ رَأَيْتُكَ تَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَتَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا ‏.‏ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

يَلْبَسُهَا وَيَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهَا ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Ubaid bin Juraih said:

"I said to Ibn 'Umar: 'I see you are wearing Sibtiyyah sandals, [1] and you performed Wudu' in them.' He said: 'I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wearing then and performing Wudu' in them.'" [1] Made of hairless, tanned leather.

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan al-Nasa'i

قَوْله ( سِبْتِيَّة ) بِكَسْرِ مُهْمَلَة وَسُكُون مُوَحَّدَة بَعْدهَا مُثَنَّاة فَوْقِيَّة نِسْبَة إِلَى السِّبْت وَالْمُرَاد الَّتِي لَا شَعْر لَهَا وَالسِّبْت هُوَ الْحَلْق وَمَعْنَى يَتَوَضَّأ فِيهَا أَيْ يَتَوَضَّأ فِي حَال لُبْسهَا وَالْمُتَبَادِر مِنْهُ أَنَّهُ يَتَوَضَّأ الْوُضُوء الْمُعْتَاد فِي حَال لُبْسهَا فَاسْتَدَلَّ بِهِ الْمُصَنِّف عَلَى غَسْل الرِّجْلَيْنِ دُون الْمَسْح وَلَوْ كَانَ الْوُضُوء حَال لُبْسهَا لَهُ عَلَى الْوَجْه الْمُعْتَاد لَذُكِرَ وَاَللَّه تَعَالَى أَعْلَم.…

Ibn ‘Umar said the Prophet used to wear tanned leather sandals and dye his beard yellow with wars (a plant of yellow colour in the Yemen, like sesame) and saffron. And Ibn ‘Umar used to do that. Nasa’i transmitted it.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَلْبَسُ النِّعَالَ السِّبْتِيَّةَ وَيَصْفِرُّ لِحْيَتَهُ بِالْوَرْسِ وَالزَّعْفَرَانِ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِك. رَوَاهُ…
