حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّائِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ الْأَسَدِيُّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ الْوَالِبِيِّ قَالَ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مِنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْكُوفَةِ قَرَظَةُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ فَقَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: He who is lamented upon would be punished because of the lamentation for him on the Day of judgment.

مَنْ نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying, "He who allows (others) to wail over his death, will be punished for it on the Day of Resurrection." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Authentic Mishkat al-Masabih 1740

Al-Mughira b. Shu'ba said he heard God’s messenger say, “If people wail for anyone he will be punished for it on the day of resurrection.” (Bukharl and Muslim.)

عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسلم يَقُول: «من نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ فَإِنَّهُ يُعَذَّبُ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْم الْقِيَامَة»
