حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ مَا كَانَ شَخْصٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا لِمَا يَعْلَمُوا مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: There was no person more beloved to them (the ‎Companions) than the Messenger of Allah (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him). ‎Nevertheless, they would not stand up when they saw him, knowing his dislike for that.

وَكَانُوا إِذَا رَأَوْهُ لَمْ يَقُومُوا لِمَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِنْ كَرَاهِيَتِهِ لِذَلِكَ ‏.‏

Anas said, "There is no one that people loved to see more than the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. But when they saw him, they did not stand up for him since they knew that he disliked that."
