وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، ‏.‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ

يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ بِـ ‏‏{‏ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى‏}‏ وَفِي الصُّبْحِ بِأَطْوَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ‏.‏

Jabir b. Samura reported:

The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the noon prayer:" Glorify the name of thy Most High Lord in the morning prayer longer than this" (lxxxvii.)

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in the noon and afternoon prayer: "By the Heaven and the Morning Star" (Surah 86) and "By the Heaven , holding mansions of the stars" (Surah 85) and similar surahs of equal length.
