Authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim Muttafaq ‘alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) Sahih Muslim 2233e

Narrator:Abu Lubāba ibn Abd al-Mundhir

وَحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ، قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقْتُلُ الْحَيَّاتِ كُلَّهُنَّ حَتَّى حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو لُبَابَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُنْذِرِ الْبَدْرِيُّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى

عَنْ قَتْلِ جِنَّانِ الْبُيُوتِ فَأَمْسَكَ ‏.‏

Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Urnar used to kill all types of snakes until Abu Lubaba b. 'Abd al-Mundhir Badri reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had forbidden the killing of the snakes of the houses, and so he abstained from it.

Reported by Muslim (No. 2233e), Al-Bukhari (No. 3312) and Ahmad (No. 14996).

Ibn Mas'ud reported God's messenger as saying, "Kill all the snakes, and he who fears their revenge does not belong to me." Abu Dawud and Nasa'i transmitted it.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ كُلَّهُنَّ فَمَنْ خَافَ ثَأْرَهُنَّ فَلَيْسَ مِنِّي» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ

Kill snakes, kill those which have two streaks and those with small tails, for they obliterate the eyesight and cause miscarriage. Authentic Sunan Abu Dawud 5253

The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) prohibited killing the jinnan(small snakes) that are in the house, except the one which have two streaks and the one with small tail, for they obliterate the eyesight and cause miscarriage.

قَتْلِ الْجِنَّانِ الَّتِي تَكُونُ فِي الْبُيُوتِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ ذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنِ وَالأَبْتَرَ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَخْطِفَانِ الْبَصَرَ وَيَطْرَحَانِ مَا فِي بُطُونِ النِّسَاءِ ‏.‏
