Narrator:Ā’ishah

حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْفَضْلِ - حَدَّثَنَا ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ، حَزْنٍ الْقُشَيْرِيُّ قَالَ لَقِيتُ عَائِشَةَ فَسَأَلْتُهَا عَنِ النَّبِيذِ، فَحَدَّثَتْنِي أَنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَدِمُوا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلُوا النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ النَّبِيذِ فَنَهَاهُمْ

أَنْ يَنْتَبِذُوا فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالْحَنْتَمِ ‏.‏

Thumama b. Hazn Al-Qushairi reported:

I met 'A'isha and asked her (about the utensils in which) Nabidh (may be prepared). She narrated to me that a group of 'Abd al-Qais came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and asked: Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) about Nabidh. He (the Holy Prophet) forbade them to prepare Nabidh in varnished jar, hollow stumps and gourd and green pitcher.

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَان بْن فَرُّوخ حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِم يَعْنِي اِبْن الْفَضْل ) هَكَذَا هُوَ فِي جَمِيع نُسَخ بِلَادنَا ( الْفَضْل ) بِغَيْرِ مِيم , وَكَذَا نَقَلَهُ الْقَاضِي عَنْ مُعْظَم نُسَخ بِلَادهمْ وَهُوَ الصَّوَاب , وَوَقَعَ فِي بَعْض نُسَخ الْمَغَارِبَة ( الْمُفَضَّل ) بِالْمِيمِ وَهُوَ خَطَأ صَرِيح , وَقَدْ ذَكَرَهُ مُسْلِم بَعْد هَذَا فِي بَاب الِانْتِبَاذ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الصَّوَاب بِاتِّفَاقِ نُسَخ الْجَمِيع.…

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade (the preparation) of Nabidh in green pitcher, in varnished jar, in hollow stump, and when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not find anything to prepare Nabidh in that (i. e. waterskin), it was prepared for him in a big bowl made of stone.

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْجَرِّ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ ‏.‏ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا لَمْ يَجِدْ شَيْئًا يُنْتَبَذُ لَهُ فِيهِ نُبِذَ لَهُ فِي تَوْرٍ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ

Yahya related to me from Malik from al-Ala ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Yaqub from his father from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade preparing nabidh in a gourd or in a jug smeared with pitch.

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِي الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ ‏.‏
