وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ، بَشَّارٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لاِبْنِ الْمُثَنَّى - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ، جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏"‏

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ عَيْشَ إِلاَّ عَيْشُ الآخِرَهْ فَاغْفِرْ لِلأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهْ ‏"

Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said:

"By Allah, there is no true life except that of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansār (Supporters) and the Muhājirah (Emigrants)."

Explanation

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) informed that true life is none other than the life of the Hereafter in Allah's pleasure, mercy, and Paradise because the life of this world is fleeting, while the life of the Hereafter is everlasting and eternal. He (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) then supplicated for forgiveness, honor, and righteousness for the Ansār, who welcomed and supported the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him), assisted the Emigrants, and even shared their wealth with them—as well as for the Muhājirūn, who left behind their homes and possessions seeking the bounty and pleasure of Allah.

Lessons

The Prophet's detachment from worldly life and his focus on the Hereafter.
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged his Ummah to renounce the perishable pleasures of worldly life.
Highlighting the virtue of the Muhājirūn and the Ansār, as they won the Prophet's supplication for their forgiveness.
A servant should not rejoice over what he gains from this world, for it is quick to vanish and often tainted with hardship. The true abode of permanence and stability is the Hereafter.

Explanation in Arabic

أخبر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه لا عيش حقيقي إلا العيش في الآخرة في رضوان الله ورحمته وجنته؛ لأن عيش الدنيا زائل، وعيش الآخرة هو الدائم الباقي، ثم دعا صلى الله عليه وسلم بالمغفرة والإكرام والصلاح للأنصار الذين آووا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والمهاجرين، ونصروهم، وقاسموهم أموالهم، وأيضًا للمهاجرين الذين تركوا ديارهم وأموالهم يبتغون فضلًا من الله ورضوانًا.

المهاجرون هم الذي أسلموا قبل فتح مكة وهاجروا إلى الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في المدينة واستوطنوها، وتركوا بلادهم وأموالهم وأهليهم، رغبة فيما عند الله، وابتغاء مرضاته، ونصرة لهذا الدين.
الأنصار هم أهل المدينة النبوية الذي استقبلوا الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وأصحابه المهاجرين، وآووهم في المدينة وقاسموهم أموالهم ولم يبخلوا عليهم بشيء، وجاهدوا في سبيل الله بأموالهم وأنفسهم.
زهده صلى الله عليه وسلم في الدنيا وإقباله على الآخرة.
تزهيد النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أمته في متاع الدنيا الزائل.
بيان منقبة المهاجرين والأنصار، حيث فازوا بدعوة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لهم بالمغفرة.
لا يفرح العبد بما يناله من الدنيا فهي سريعة الزوال مع ما فيها من التكدير، وإنما دار القرار والمستقر هي الآخرة.
