Chapter: One Who Vows To Walk To The Ka'bah

Authentic hadith of Sahih Muslim Sahih Muslim 1643b

وَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، - يَعْنِي الدَّرَاوَرْدِيَّ - عَنْ عَمْرِو، بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ ‏.‏

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Amr b. Abu 'Amr with the same chain of transmitters.

Reported by Muslim (No. 1643b, 1643a), Ibn Majah (No. 2135), Ahmad (No. 8504) and Ad-Darimi (No. 2231).

"The Prophet (ﷺ) saw an old man walking between his two sons, and he said: What is the matter with him?' His sons said: 'A vow, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'Let this old man ride, for Allah has no need of you or your vow."'

"‏ مَا شَأْنُ هَذَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنَاهُ نَذْرٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ ارْكَبْ أَيُّهَا الشَّيْخُ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْكَ وَعَنْ نَذْرِكَ ‏"
