Chapter: Validity of a child's hajj, and the reward of the one who takes him for Hajj

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ، عُيَيْنَةَ - قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، - عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَقِيَ رَكْبًا بِالرَّوْحَاءِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ مَنِ الْقَوْمُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالُوا الْمُسْلِمُونَ ‏.‏ فَقَالُوا مَنْ أَنْتَ قَالَ ‏"‏ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

فَرَفَعَتْ إِلَيْهِ امْرَأَةٌ صَبِيًّا فَقَالَتْ أَلِهَذَا حَجٌّ قَالَ ‏"‏ نَعَمْ وَلَكِ أَجْرٌ ‏"

Ibn Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) met some riders at al-Rauha and asked who they were. They replied that they were Muslims. They said:

Who art thou? He said: (I am) Messengef of Allah. A woman (then) lifted up a boy to him and said: Would this child be credited with having performed the Hajj? Thereupon he said: Yes, and you will have a reward.

Explanation in Arabic

لقي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو متوجه إلى الحج جماعة راكبة، في موضع بين مكة والمدينة يقال له الرَّوحاء، فسألهم: من القوم؟ قالوا: نحن المسلمون، وسألوه: من أنت؟ ويحتمل أن يكون هذا اللقاء كان ليلا، فلم يعرفوه صلى الله عليه وسلم، أو أن اللقاء كان نهارا، لكنهم لم يروه صلى الله عليه وسلم قبل ذلك، لعدم هجرتهم، فأسلموا في بلدانهم ولم يروه، فأخبرهم أنه رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فرفعت إليه امرأة من القوم صبيًّا، فقالت: أيحصل لهذا الصبي ثواب حج؟ قال: نعم له حج، ولك أجر، زادها صلى الله عليه وسلم على سؤالها؛ ترغيبا لها.

مشروعية الحج بالصغير مطلقا، سواء كان مميزا أم لا، إذا فعل عنه وليه ما يفعل الحاج.
الصبي يثاب على طاعته، ويكتب له حسناته.
ثبوت الأجر لوليه إذا حج به.
مشروعية الزيادة في الجواب على السؤال؛ زيادة في الفائدة، وهو من مقاصد البلغاء.
من جهل شيئًا فعليه أن يسأل أهل العلم؛ قال الله تعالى: {فاسألوا أهل الذكر إن كنتم لا تعلمون} [النحل: 43].
على النساء أن يسألن عما يجهلنه من الأحكام كالرجال وأن يتفقهن في الدين.

قَوْله : ( لَقِيَ رَكْبًا بِالرَّوْحَاءِ فَقَالَ : مَنْ الْقَوْم ؟ فَقَالُوا : الْمُسْلِمُونَ , فَقَالُوا : مَنْ أَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ : رَسُول اللَّه ) صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. الرَّكْب أَصْحَاب الْإِبِل خَاصَّة , وَأَصْله أَنْ يُسْتَعْمَل فِي عَشَرَة فَمَا دُونهَا , وَسَبَقَ فِي مُسْلِم فِي الْأَذَان أَنَّ ( الرَّوْحَاء ) مَكَان عَلَى سِتَّة وَثَلَاثِينَ مِيلًا مِنْ الْمَدِينَة , قَالَ الْقَاضِي عِيَاض : يُحْتَمَل أَنَّ هَذَا اللِّقَاء كَانَ لَيْلًا فَلَمْ يَعْرِفُوهُ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَيُحْتَمَل كَوْنه نَهَارًا , لَكِنْهُمْ لَمْ يَرَوْهُ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْل ذَلِكَ لِعَدَمِ هِجْرَتهمْ , فَأَسْلَمُوا فِي بُلْدَانهمْ وَلَمْ يُهَاجِرُوا قَبْل ذَلِكَ. قَو…

A woman lifted up her child and said: Messenger of Allah, would the child be credited with having performed the Hajj? Thereupon he said: Yes, and there would be a reward for you.
