حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلاَلٍ الصَّوَّافُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، قَالَ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَلَمَّا أَرَدْنَا الاِنْصِرَافَ قَالَ لَنَا ‏

"‏ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا، وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا ‏"

It was narrated that Malik bin Huwairith said:

“I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) with a friend of mine, and when we wanted to leave, he said to us: ‘When the time for prayer comes, say the Adhan and Iqamah, then let the older of you lead the prayer.’”

قَوْله ( فَأَذِّنَا ) فِي الْجَمْع أَيْ لِيُؤَذِّن أَحَدكُمَا وَيُجِيب الْآخَر ا ه وَلَا يَخْفَى مَا فِيهِ مِنْ الْجَمْع بَيْن الْحَقِيقَة وَالْمَجَاز وَيُمْكِن أَنْ يُقَال بِالْمَجَازِ فِي الْإِسْنَاد كَمَا فِي بَنُو فُلَان قَتَلُوا أَيْ وُجِدَ الْقَتْل فِيمَا بَيْنهمْ الْأَذَان وَالْإِقَامَة وَالْمَعْنَى يَجُوز لِكُلِّ مِنْكُمَا الْأَذَان وَالْإِقَامَة أَيّكُمَا فَعَلَ حَصَلَ وَلَا يَخْتَصّ بِأَكْبَرِكُمَا كَالْإِمَامَةِ وَوَجْه تَخْصِيص الْأَكْبَر فِي الْإِمَامَة هُوَ أَنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ فِي سَائِر الْأَشْيَاء الْمُوجِبَة لِلتَّقَدُّمِ كاَلْأَقَرَئِيَّةِ وَالْأَعْلَمِيَّةِ بِالسُّنَّةِ.…

Prophet said (to two persons), "Whenever the prayer time becomes due, you should pronounce Adhan and then Iqama and the older of you should lead the prayer."
