حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏

"‏ مَضْمِضُوا مِنَ اللَّبَنِ فَإِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا ‏"

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that:

The Prophet said: 'Rinse your mouths after drinking milk for there is some greasiness in it."

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 498).

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( مَضْمِضُوا مِنْ اللَّبَن ) أَيْ مِنْ شَرَابه وَالْأَمْر لِلنَّدَبِ لِأَنَّهُ قَدْ جَاءَ تَرْكه أَحْيَانًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ دَسَمًا بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ الْوَدَك وَقِيلَ يَجُوز أَنْ تَكُون هَذِهِ الْجُمْلَة إِشَارَة إِلَى عِلَّة الْمَضْمَضَة مِنْ اللَّبَن فَتَجِبُ الْمَضْمَضَة مِنْ كُلّ مَا لَهُ دَسَم بِهَذِهِ الْعِلَّة.…
