حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏

"‏ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ فَتَعَجَّلَ كُلُّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَتَهُ وَإِنِّي اخْتَبَأْتُ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي فَهِيَ نَائِلَةٌ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْهُمْ لاَ يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا ‏"

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

“Every Prophet had a prayer that was answered, and every Prophet offered this prayer in this world. But I am saving my prayer so that I can intercede for my nation, and it reaches every one of them who dies not associating anything with Allah.”

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( لِكُلِّ نَبِيّ دَعْوَة ) أَيْ فِي حَقّ الْأُمَّة عُمُومًا فِي هَلَاكهمْ أَوْ نَجَاتهمْ ( مُسْتَجَابَة ) أَيْ قَطْعًا لِلدَّعْوَةِ بِاسْتِجَابَتِهِ وَأَمَّا بَاقِي دَعَوَاتهمْ فِي حَقّ الْأُمَم فَهِيَ فِي حِيزَ الْمَشِيئَة نَعَمْ الْغَالِب الِاسْتِجَابَة قَوْله ( اِخْتَبَأْت ) بِهَمْزَةٍ أَيْ اِدَّخَرْتهَا ( مَنْ مَاتَ ) مِثْل أَصْحَاب الْكَبَائِر وَقَدْ جَاءَ شُمُول الشَّفَاعَة لَهُمْ جَمِيعًا صَرِيحًا فَفِيهِ رَدّ عَلَى مَنْ أَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ وَيَرَى أَنَّ الشَّفَاعَة لِرَفْعِ الدَّرَجَات وَغَيْره وَلَا شَفَاعَة لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِر بَلْ هُمْ مُخَلَّدُونَ فِي النَّار.…

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "For every prophet there is one (special invocation (that will not be rejected) with which he appeals (to Allah), and I want to keep such an invocation for interceding for my followers in the Hereafter."

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ يَدْعُو بِهَا، وَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي فِي الآخِرَةِ ‏"

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "For every Prophet there is one invocation which is definitely fulfilled by Allah, and I wish, if Allah will, to keep my that (special) invocation as to be the intercession for my followers on the Day of Resurrection."

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ، فَأُرِيدُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِيَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"

Verity the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: There is for every apostle a (special) prayer with which he would pray. I wish I could reserve, my prayer for intercession of my Ummah on the Day of Resurrection.

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ يَدْعُوهَا فَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Every Messenger is endowed with a prayer which is granted and by which he would (pray to his Lord) and it would he granted for him. I have, however, reserved my prayer for the intercession of my Ummab on the Day of Resurrection.

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ يَدْعُو بِهَا فَيُسْتَجَابُ لَهُ فَيُؤْتَاهَا وَإِنِّي اخْتَبَأْتُ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"

لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ دَعَا بِهَا فِي أُمَّتِهِ فَاسْتُجِيبَ لَهُ وَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ أُؤَخِّرَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ‏"

“Every Prophet has a (special) supplication which is answered. Verily, I have reserved mine as intercession for my nation, and it shall reach, if Allah wills, those of them who die, not associating anything with Allah.”

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'z-Zinad from al-Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Every prophet is given a supplication (dua), and I wish to preserve my dua as intercession for my community in the next world.

"‏ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ دَعْوَةٌ يَدْعُو بِهَا فَأُرِيدُ أَنْ أَخْتَبِئَ دَعْوَتِي شَفَاعَةً لأُمَّتِي فِي الآخِرَةِ ‏"
