حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ، حَدَّثَنَا بَشِيرُ بْنُ سَلْمَانَ، عَنْ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ طَارِقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ ‏

"‏ بَيْنَ يَدَىِ السَّاعَةِ مَسْخٌ وَخَسْفٌ وَقَذْفٌ ‏"

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Just before the Hour comes there will be transformations, the earth collapsing, and Qadhf. (i.e. the throwing of stones perhaps as a means of punishment – maybe it refers to landslides).”

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 4059).

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( مَسْخ ) لِلصُّوَرِ الظَّاهِرِيَّة أَوْ لِلْقُلُوبِ الْبَاطِنِيَّة ( وَخَسْف ) أَيْ ذَهَاب فِي عُمْق الْأَرْض ( وَقَذْف ) بِالْحِجَارَةِ قَالَ السُّيُوطِيُّ هُوَ الرَّمْي بِقُوَّةٍ فِي الزَّوَائِد فِي حَدِيث عَبْد اللَّه رِجَال إِسْنَاده ثِقَات إِلَّا أَنَّهُ مُنْقَطِع وَيَسَار أَبُو الْحَكَم لَمْ يُحَدِّث عَنْ طَارِق بْن شِهَاب قَالَهُ الْإِمَام أَحْمَد وَلَهُ شَاهِد مِنْ حَدِيث أَبِي هُرَيْرَة رَوَاهُ اِبْن حِبَّانَ فِي صَحِيحه.…

I heard God’s messenger say, “Some of my people will be swallowed up and some will be metamorphosed. That will come about among those who declare God’s decree to be false." Abu Dawud transmitted it and Tirmidhi transmitted something similar.
