Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ

يَدَّهِنُ رَأْسَهُ بِالزَّيْتِ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ غَيْرَ الْمُقَتَّتِ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to put oil on his head when he was in the state of Ihram, but not oil that was perfumed.

قَوْله ( غَيْر الْمُقَتَّت ) بِقَافٍ وَتَاءَيْنِ مُثَنَّاتَيْنِ فَوْقِيَّتَيْنِ أَيْ غَيْر الطِّيب وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُطْبَخ فِيهِ الرَّيَاحِين حَتَّى يَطِيب رِيحه قَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ هَذَا حَدِيث غَرِيب لَا يُعْرَف إِلَّا مِنْ حَدِيث فَرْقَدٍ وَفِيهِ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فَكَانَ مَنْ تَرَكَ هَذَا الْحَدِيث تَرَكَهُ لِذَلِكَ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَم.…

Ibn 'Umar said that when the Prophet was in the sacred state he used to grease'himself with olive-oil which was not muqattat, which means perfumed. Tirmidhi transmitted it.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَدَّهِنُ بالزيت وَهُوَ محرمٌ غيرَ المقنّتِ يَعني غيرَ المطيَّبِ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
