Chapter: What was narrated concerning voluntary Prayers during the night

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَجُلٌ نَامَ لَيْلَةً حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ قَالَ ‏

"‏ ذَلِكَ الشَّيْطَانُ بَالَ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ ‏"

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah said:

“Mention was made to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) of a man who slept until morning came. He said: ‘That is because Satan urinated in his ears.’”

Reported by Ibn Majah (No. 1330).

قَوْله ( حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ ) لَعَلَّهُ تَرَكَ الْعِشَاء فَظَاهِر كَلَام الْمُصَنِّف وَغَيْره أَنَّهُ تَرَكَ صَلَاة اللَّيْل وَذَلِكَ إِشَارَة إِلَى الرَّجُل النَّائِم كَمَا يَدُلّ عَلَيْهِ الرِّوَايَات وَيُحْتَمَل أَنْ تَكُون إِشَارَة إِلَى شَيْطَان كَانَ مَعْلُومًا بَيْنهمْ بِأَنَّ بَوْله يُحْدِث الثِّقَل فِي الْأُذُن بِحَيْثُ لَا يَسْمَع صِيَاح الدِّيك وَنَحْوه قِيلَ بَوْل حَقِيقَة مِمَّا يَقُوم بِسَمَاعِهِ أَهْل التَّوْفِيق.…
