Narrator:Sa‘d

حَدَّثَنَا مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ الْمَرْزُبَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيَّبِ، يَقُولُ قَالَ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ

مَا أَسْلَمَ أَحَدٌ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي أَسْلَمْتُ فِيهِ وَلَقَدْ مَكَثْتُ سَبْعَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَإِنِّي لَثُلُثُ الإِسْلاَمِ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Hashim bin Hashim said:

"I heard Sa'eed bin Musayyab say: 'Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas said: 'No one else became Muslim on the same day as I did; for seven days I was one-third of Islam.'"

Al-Sindi — Hashiyat al-Sindi on Sunan Ibn Majah

قَوْله ( مَا أَسْلَمَ أَحَد فِي الْيَوْم الَّذِي أَسْلَمْت فِيهِ ) قَالَ اِبْن حَجَر فِي شَرْح الْبُخَارِيّ هَكَذَا رِوَايَة مَنْدَهْ فِي الْمَعْرِفَة وَهَذَا لَا يُنَافِي أَنْ يُشَارِكهُ أَحَد فِي الْإِسْلَام قَبْل يَوْم أَسْلَمَ لَكِنَّ رِوَايَة الْبُخَارِيّ فِي صَحِيحه مَا أَسْلَمَ أَحَد إِلَّا فِي الْيَوْم الَّذِي أَسْلَمْت فِيهِ يُرِيد مَا سَبَقَ أَحَد بِالْإِسْلَامِ كَمَا وَقَعَ عِنْد الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ بِلَفْظِ مَا أَسْلَمَ أَحَد قَبْلِي وَهَذَا لَا يَخْلُو عَنْ إِشْكَال فَقَدْ أَسْلَمَ قَبْله جَمَاعَة قِيلَ كَأَبِي بَكْر وَعَلِيّ وَزَيْد وَغَيْرهمْ فَيُحْمَل عَلَى أَنَّهُ قَالَ ذَلِكَ بِحَسَبِ عِلْمه قَوْله ( وَإِنِّي لَثُلُث الْإِسْلَام ) بِضَمَّتَيْنِ أَوْ سُكُون الثَّانِي حَمَلَهُ…

I have seen myself as. the third member of Islam, no one having accepted it except on the day I did, and during the space of seven days I constituted a third of Islam[]. The claim is that after Abu Bakr and Khadija no one accepted Islam before he did, and that no one else accepted it for a week…
