Narrator:Al-Barā' ibn ‘Āzib

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يَخْطُبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْبَرَاءُ، وَكَانَ، غَيْرَ كَذُوبٍ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا

إِذَا صَلَّوْا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ قَامُوا قِيَامًا حَتَّى يَرَوْنَهُ قَدْ سَجَدَ‏.‏

Narrated Al-Bara:

(And Al-Bara was not a liar) Whenever we offered prayer with the Prophet (ﷺ) and he raised his head from the bowing, we used to remain standing till we saw him prostrating .

Explanation in Arabic

لِصَلاةِ الجَماعةِ ضَوابِطُ وقَواعِدُ يَنبَغي مُراعاتُها وتَعلُّمُها، ومِن أهَمِّ هذه القَواعِدِ الاقتِداءُ التَّامُّ بالإمامِ؛ فإنَّما جُعِلَ الإمامُ لِيُؤتَمَّ به، وقدْ طبَّقَ الصحابةُ رَضيَ اللهُ عنهم هذا الأمْرَ مع النبيِّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ، كما يُوضِّحُه هذا الحَديثُ، حيثُ يُخبِرُ البَراءُ بنُ عازِبٍ رَضيَ اللهُ عنه أنَّ النبيَّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ كانَ إذا رَفَعَ رأْسَه مِنَ الرُّكوعِ وقال: سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَن حَمِدَه، وانتَصَبَ المأْمومونَ خَلفَه مِن رُكوعِهم، ظَلُّوا قيامًا على حالِهم، ولم يَحْنِ أحَدٌ منهم ظَهرَه، ولم يُبادِرْ إلى السُّجودِ حتى يَسجُدَ النبيُّ صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ، بأنْ يَضَعَ جَبهَتَه على الأرضِ، ثم يَسجُدوا مِن وَرائِه صلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ.

قَوْلُهُ : ( حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاج ) هُوَ اِبْنُ مِنْهَالٍ , وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ الْبُخَارِيّ مِنْ حَجَّاج بْن مُحَمَّد. وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ الْكَلَامُ عَلَى حَدِيث الْبَرَاء فِي " بَاب مَتَى يَسْجُدُ مَنْ خَلْفَ الْإِمَامِ " وَوَقَعَ فِيهِ هُنَا فِي رِوَايَةِ كَرِيمَةَ وَأَبِي الْوَقْتِ وَغَيْرهمَا " حَتَّى يَرَوْنَهُ قَدْ سَجَدَ " بِإِثْبَات النُّون , وَفِي رِوَايَةِ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَالْأَصِيلِيّ بِحَذْفِهَا وَهُوَ أَوْجَهُ , وَجَازَ الْأَوَّل عَلَى إِرَادَةِ الْحَالِ.…

Authentic Sahih Muslim 474a

They used to say prayer behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I never saw anyone bending his back at the time when he (the Holy Prophet) raised his head, till the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) placed his forehead on the ground. They then fell in prostration after him.

فَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ لَمْ أَرَ أَحَدًا يَحْنِي ظَهْرَهُ حَتَّى يَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَبْهَتَهُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَخِرُّ مَنْ وَرَاءَهُ سُجَّدًا ‏.‏

"When we performed Salat behind Allah's Messenger, he would raise his head from bowing, and no man among us would bend his back until Allah's Messenger prostrated, then we prostrated."

Authentic Sunan Abu Dawud 620

Al-Bara who is not a liar said; when they (the companions) raised their heads from bowing along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), they would stand up, and when they saw him that he went down in prostration, they would prostrate (following the prophet).

إِذَا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَامُوا قِيَامًا فَإِذَا رَأَوْهُ قَدْ سَجَدَ سَجَدُوا ‏.‏
