Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"

‏ مِنْ أَفْرَى الْفِرَى أَنْ يُرِيَ عَيْنَيْهِ مَا لَمْ تَرَ ‏"

Narrated Ibn `Umar:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The worst lie is that a person claims to have seen a dream which he has not seen."

قَوْله ( حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيّ بْن مُسْلِم ) هُوَ الطُّوسِيُّ نَزِيل بَغْدَاد مَاتَ قَبْلَ الْبُخَارِيّ بِثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ , وَعَبْد الصَّمَد هُوَ اِبْن عَبْد الْوَارِث بْن سَعِيد وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهُ الْبُخَارِيّ بِالسِّنِّ وَمَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْحَل الْبُخَارِيّ , وَقَدْ أَخْرَجَهُ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ مِنْ طَرِيق عَبْد الْوَارِث بْن عَبْد الصَّمَد بْن عَبْد الْوَارِث عَنْ أَبِيهِ , وَعَبْد الرَّحْمَن بْن عَبْد اللَّه بْن دِينَار مُخْتَلَف فِيهِ : قَالَ اِبْن الْمَدِينِيّ صَدُوق , وَقَالَ يَحْيَى بْن مَعِين فِي حَدِيثه عِنْدِي ضَعْف , وَقَالَ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ خَالَفَ فِيهِ الْبُخَارِيّ النَّاس وَلَيْسَ بِمَتْرُوكٍ , قُلْت : عُمْدَة الْبُخَارِيّ فِيهِ كَلَام شَيْخه عَلِيٍّ , وَأَمَّا قَوْل اِبْن مَع…

Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The worst lie is when a man claims to have seen something which he has not seen.”
