حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ أَبِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

نَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الدَّمِ، وَثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَآكِلِ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلِهِ، وَالْوَاشِمَةِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةِ‏.‏

Narrated Abu Juhaifa:

The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the use of the price of blood and the price of a dog, the one who takes (eats) usury the one who gives usury, the woman who practises tattooing and the woman who gets herself tattooed.

The Prophet (ﷺ) cursed the lady who practices tattooing and the one who gets herself tattooed, and one who eats (takes) Riba' (usury) and the one who gives it. And he prohibited taking the price of a dog, and the money earned by prostitution, and cursed the makers of pictures.

الْوَاشِمَةَ، وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَةَ، وَآكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُوكِلَهُ، وَنَهَى عَنْ ثَمَنِ الْكَلْبِ، وَكَسْبِ الْبَغِيِّ، وَلَعَنَ الْمُصَوِّرِينَ‏.‏

that he had bought a slave whose profession was cupping. The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade taking the price of blood and the price of a dog and the earnings of a prostitute, and cursed the one who took or gave (Riba') usury, and the lady who tattooed others or got herself tattooed, and the picture-maker.

Anas said that a man of Kilab asked the Prophet about hiring a stallion to cover a female and he forbade him; but when he said, "Messenger of God, we lend a stallion to cover a female and are given a present," he gave him licence to accept a present. Tirmidhi transmitted it.

Rāfi‘ ibn Khadīj (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The price of a dog is evil, the earning of a prostitute is evil and the earning of a cupper is evil."
