Authentic hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari Muttafaq ‘alayh (Bukhari and Muslim) Sahih al-Bukhari 5744

حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

كَانَ يَرْقِي يَقُولُ ‏"‏ امْسَحِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، بِيَدِكَ الشِّفَاءُ، لاَ كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

Narrated `Aisha:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to treat with a Ruqya saying, "O the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble The cure is in Your Hands, and there is none except You who can remove it (the disease) . "

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

( النَّضْر ) هُوَ اِبْن شُمَيْلٍ. قَوْله : ( كَانَ يَرْقِي ) بِكَسْرِ الْقَاف , وَهُوَ بِمَعْنَى قَوْله فِي الرِّوَايَة الَّتِي قَبْلهَا " كَانَ يَعُوذ " وَلَعَلَّ هَذَا هُوَ السِّرّ أَيْضًا فِي إِيرَاد طَرِيق عُرْوَة وَإِنْ كَانَ سِيَاق مَسْرُوق أَتَمَّ , لَكِنْ عُرْوَة صَرَّحَ بِكَوْنِ ذَلِكَ رُقْيَة فَيُوَافِق حَدِيث أَنَس فِي أَنَّهَا رُقْيَة النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَوْله : ( اِمْسَحْ ) هُوَ بِمَعْنَى قَوْله فِي الرِّوَايَة الْأُخْرَى " أَذْهِبْ " وَالْمُرَاد الْإِزَالَة. قَوْله : ( بِيَدِك الشِّفَاء لَا كَاشِف لَهُ ) أَيْ لِلْمَرَضِ ( إِلَّا أَنْتَ ) وَهُوَ بِمَعْنَى قَوْله. Whenever Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) paid a visit to a patient, or a patient was brought to him, he used to invoke Allah, saying, "Take away the disease, O the Lord of the people! Cure him as You are the One Who cures. There is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves no disease."

أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، اشْفِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا ‏"

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to treat some of his wives by passing his right hand over the place of ailment and used to say, "O Allah, the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble and heal the patient, for You are the Healer. No healing is of any avail but Yours; healing that will leave behind no ailment."

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا ‏"

When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited the sick he would say: Lord of the people. remove the disease, cure him, for Thou art the great Curer, there is no cure but through Thine healing Power, which leaves nothing of the disease.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to recite (this supplication) as the words of invocation:" Lord of the people, remove the trouble for in Thine Hand is the cure; none is there to relieve him (the burden of disease) but only Thou.
