Chapter: Unripe-date drink and ripe-date drink should not be mixed if it is an intoxicant, and two cooked foods should not be put in one dish

Narrator:Abu Qatāda

حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ

نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يُجْمَعَ بَيْنَ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّهْوِ، وَالتَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ، وَلْيُنْبَذْ كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى حِدَةٍ‏.‏

Narrated Abu Qatada:

The Prophet (ﷺ) forbade the mixing of ripe and unripe dates and also the mixing of dates and raisins (for preparing a syrup) but the syrup of each kind of fruit should be prepared separately. ( One may have such drinks as long as it is fresh )

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِم ) هُوَ اِبْنُ إِبْرَاهِيم أَيْضًا , وَهِشَام هُوَ الدَّسْتُوَائِيّ أَيْضًا. قَوْله : ( عَنْ عَبْد اللَّه بْن أَبِي قَتَادَة عَنْ أَبِيهِ ) هُوَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ الْمَشْهُور. قَوْله : ( نَهَى ) فِي رِوَايَة مُسْلِم مِنْ طَرِيق إِسْمَاعِيل اِبْن عُلَيَّة عَنْ هِشَام بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَاد " لَا تَنْبِذُوا الزَّهْو وَالرُّطَب جَمِيعًا " الْحَدِيث. قَوْله : ( وَلْيُنْبَذْ كُلّ وَاحِد مِنْهُمَا ) أَيْ مِنْ كُلّ اِثْنَيْنِ مِنْهُمَا , فَيَكُون الْجَمْع بَيْنَ أَكْثَر بِطَرِيقِ الْأَوْلَى. قَوْله : ( عَلَى حِدَة ) بِكَسْرِ الْمُهْمَلَة وَفَتْح الدَّال بَعْدهَا هَاء تَأْنِيث أَيْ وَحْده , وَوَقَعَ فِي رِوَايَة الْكُشْمِيهَنِيّ " عَلَى حِدَته " وَهَذَا مِمَّا يُؤَيِّد رَدّ ا…

Ibn 'Abbas reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) forbade the mixing of dates and grapes together, and mixing of unripe dates and ripe dates together (for preparing Nabidh), and he wrote to the people of Jurash (in Yemen) forbidding them to prepare the mixture of dates and grapes.

أَنْ يُخْلَطَ التَّمْرُ وَالزَّبِيبُ جَمِيعًا وَأَنْ يُخْلَطَ الْبُسْرُ وَالتَّمْرُ جَمِيعًا وَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِ جُرَشَ يَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ خَلِيطِ التَّمْرِ وَالزَّبِيبِ ‏
