Narrator:Sahl ibn Sa‘d

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ سَهْلاً هَلْ رَأَيْتُمْ فِي زَمَانِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم

النَّقِيَّ قَالَ لاَ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ فَهَلْ كُنْتُمْ تَنْخُلُونَ الشَّعِيرَ قَالَ لاَ وَلَكِنْ كُنَّا نَنْفُخُهُ‏.‏

Narrated Abu Hazim:

that he asked Sahl, "Did you use white flour during the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ) ?" Sahl replied, "No. Hazim asked, "Did you use to sift barley flour?" He said, "No, but we used to blow off the husk (of the barley).

قَوْله ( أَبُو غَسَّان ) هُوَ مُحَمَّد بْن مُطَرِّف , وَأَبُو حَازِم هُوَ سَلَمَة بْن دِينَار وَهُوَ غَيْر الَّذِي قَبْله وَهُوَ أَصْغَر مِنْهُ وَإِنْ اِشْتَرَكَا فِي كَوْن كُلّ مِنْهُمَا تَابِعِيًّا. قَوْله ( النَّقِيّ ) بِفَتْحِ النُّون أَيْ خُبْز الدَّقِيق الْحُوَّارَى وَهُوَ النَّظِيف الْأَبْيَض , وَفِي حَدِيث الْبَعْث " يُحْشَر النَّاس عَلَى أَرْض عَفْرَاء كَقَرْصَةِ النَّقِيّ " وَذَكَره فِي الْبَاب الَّذِي بَعْده مِنْ وَجْه آخَر عَنْ أَبِي حَازِم أَتَمّ مِنْهُ. قَوْله ( قَالَ لَا ) هُوَ مُوَافِق لِحَدِيثِ أَنَس الْمُتَقَدِّم " مَا رَأَى مُرَقَّقًا قَطُّ ". قَوْله ( فَهَلْ كُنْتُمْ تَنْخُلُونَ الشَّعِير ) أَيْ بَعْد طَحْنه. قَوْله ( وَلَكِنْ كُنَّا نَنْفُخهُ ) ذَكَرَهُ فِي الْبَاب الَّذ…
