Narrator:Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ كَانَ أَبُو نَهِيكٍ رَجُلاً أَكُولاً فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ الْكَافِرَ

يَأْكُلُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ ‏"‏‏.‏ فَقَالَ فَأَنَا أُومِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ

Narrated `Amr:

Abu Nahik was avaricious eater. Ibn `Umar said to him, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A Kafir (unbeliever) eats in seven intestines (eats much)." On that Abu Nahik said, "But I believe in Allah and His Apostle ."

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله ( سُفْيَان ) هُوَ اِبْن عُيَيْنَة. قَوْله ( عَنْ عَمْرو ) هُوَ اِبْن دِينَار , وَوَقَعَ التَّصْرِيح بِتَحْدِيثِهِ لِسُفْيَان فِي رِوَايَة الْحُمَيْدِيّ فِي مُسْنَده وَمِنْ طَرِيقه أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ فِي " الْمُسْتَخْرَج ". قَوْله ( كَانَ أَبُو نَهِيك ) بِفَتْحِ النُّون وَكَسْر الْهَاء ( رَجُلًا أَكُولًا ) فِي رِوَايَة الْحُمَيْدِيّ " قِيلَ لِابْنِ عُمَر إِنَّ أَبَا نَهِيك رَجُل مِنْ أَهْل مَكَّة يَأْكُل أَكْلًا كَثِيرًا ". قَوْله ( فَقَالَ فَأَنَا أُومِنُ بِاَللَّهِ وَرَسُوله ) فِي رِوَايَة الْحُمَيْدِيّ " فَقَالَ الرَّجُل أَنَا أُومِن بِاَللَّهِ " إِلَخْ وَمِنْ ثَمَّ أَطْبَقَ الْعُلَمَاء عَلَى حَمْل الْحَدِيث عَلَى غَيْر ظَاهِره كَمَا سَيَأْتِي إِيضَاحه.…
