"So, fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone) ." (V.53:62)

Narrator:Ibn ‘Abbās

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ

سَجَدَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِالنَّجْمِ وَسَجَدَ مَعَهُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ وَالْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ‏

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:

The Prophet (ﷺ) performed a prostration when he finished reciting Surat-an-Najm, and all the Muslims and pagans and Jinns and human beings prostrated along with him.

قَوْله : ( سَجَدَ النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالنَّجْمِ وَسَجَدَ مَعَهُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ وَالْجِنّ وَالْإِنْس , تَابَعَهُ اِبْن طَهْمَانَ عَنْ أَيُّوب ) فِي رِوَايَة أَبِي ذَرّ إِبْرَاهِيم بْن طَهْمَانَ. قَوْله : ( وَلَمْ يَذْكُر اِبْنُ عُلَيَّة اِبْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ) أَمَّا مُتَابَعَة إِبْرَاهِيم بْن طَهْمَانَ فَوَصَلَهَا الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيّ مِنْ طَرِيق حَفْص بْن عَبْد اللَّه النَّيْسَابُورِيّ عَنْهُ بِلَفْظِ " أَنَّهُ قَالَ حِين نَزَلَتْ السُّورَة الَّتِي يُذْكَر فِيهَا النَّجْم سَجَدَ لَهَا الْإِنْس وَالْجِنّ " وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرهَا فِي سُجُود التِّلَاوَة , وَأَمَّا حَدِيث اِبْن عُلَيَّة فَالْمُرَاد بِهِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَ بِهِ عَنْ أَيُّوب فَأَرْسَلَهُ , وَأَخْر…

Ibn ‘Abbas said that the Prophet prostrated himself when an-Najm (Al-Qur'an; 53) was revealed, and the Muslims, the ploytheists, jinn and men prostrated themselves along with him. Bukhari transmitted it.

The Prophet (ﷺ) recited Surat An-Najam and prostrated, and there was nobody who did not prostrate then except a man whom I saw taking a handful of pebbles, lifting it, and prostrating on it. He then said, "This is sufficient for me." No doubt I saw him killed as a disbeliever afterwards.
