Sahih al-Bukhari 4516

Allah's Statement: "And spend in the Cause of Allah (i.e., Jihad of all kinds), and do not throw yourselves into destruction (by not spending your wealth in the Cause of Allah), and do good. Truly, Allah loves A1-Muhsinun (the good-doers) ." (V.2:195)

Authentic hadith of Sahih al-Bukhari Companion’s words (mawquf) Sahih al-Bukhari 4516

Narrator:Hudhayfah

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، ‏‏{‏وَأَنْفِقُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلاَ تُلْقُوا بِأَيْدِيكُمْ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَةِ‏}‏ قَالَ

نَزَلَتْ فِي النَّفَقَةِ‏.‏

Narrated Abu Wail:

Hudhaifa said, "The Verse:-- "And spend (of your wealth) in the Cause of Allah and do not throw yourselves in destruction," (2.195) was revealed concerning spending in Allah's Cause (i.e. Jihad).

حَدِيث حُذَيْفَة فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَة قَالَ : نَزَلَتْ فِي النَّفَقَة , أَيْ فِي تَرْك النَّفَقَة فِي سَبِيل اللَّه عَزَّ وَجَلَّ , وَهَذَا الَّذِي قَالَهُ حُذَيْفَة جَاءَ مُفَسَّرًا فِي حَدِيث أَبِي أَيُّوب الَّذِي أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ وَابْن حِبَّانَ وَالْحَاكِم مِنْ طَرِيق أَسْلَمَ بْن عِمْرَان قَالَ " كُنَّا بِالْقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةِ , فَخَرَجَ صَفّ عَظِيم مِنْ الرُّوم , فَحَمَلَ رَجُل مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَلَى صَفّ الرُّوم حَتَّى دَخَلَ فِيهِمْ , ثُمَّ رَجَعَ مُقْبِلًا. فَصَاحَ النَّاس : سُبْحَان اللَّه , أَلْقَى بِيَدِهِ إِلَى التَّهْلُكَة. فَقَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوب : أَيّهَا النَّاس , إِنَّكُمْ تُؤَوِّلُونَ هَذِهِ الْآيَة عَلَى هَذَا التَّأْوِيل ,…
