قَالَ وَقَالَ اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلاَلٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا الأَسْوَدِ، أَخْبَرَهُ عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏

الْمَلاَئِكَةُ تَتَحَدَّثُ فِي الْعَنَانِ ـ وَالْعَنَانُ الْغَمَامُ ـ بِالأَمْرِ يَكُونُ فِي الأَرْضِ، فَتَسْمَعُ الشَّيَاطِينُ الْكَلِمَةَ، فَتَقُرُّهَا فِي أُذُنِ الْكَاهِنِ، كَمَا تُقَرُّ الْقَارُورَةُ، فَيَزِيدُونَ مَعَهَا مِائَةَ كَذِبَةٍ ‏"

Narrated `Aisha:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "While the angels talk amidst the clouds about things that are going to happen on earth, the devils hear a word of what they say and pour it in the ears of a soothsayer as one pours something in a bottle, and they add one hundred lies to that (one word).

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

حَدِيثُ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاء فِي فَضْل عَمَّار , أَوْرَدَهُ مُخْتَصَرًا جِدًّا مِنْ وَجْهَيْنِ , وَسَيَأْتِي بِتَمَامِهِ فِي الْمَنَاقِب , وَالْغَرَض مِنْهُ قَوْله : " الَّذِي أَجَارَهُ اللَّه مِنْ الشَّيْطَان " فَإِنَّهُ يُشْعِر بِأَنَّ لَهُ مَزِيَّة بِذَلِكَ عَلَى غَيْره , وَمُقْتَضَاهُ أَنَّ لِلشَّيْطَانِ تَسَلُّطًا عَلَى مَنْ لَمْ يُجِرْهُ اللَّه مِنْهُ. وَحَدِيثُ عَائِشَة فِي ذِكْر الْكُهَّان أَوْرَدَهُ مُعَلَّقًا عَنْ اللَّيْث , وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ الْإِشَارَة إِلَيْهِ فِي صِفَة الْمَلَائِكَة , وَقَدْ وَصَلَهُ أَبُو نُعَيْم فِي الْمُسْتَخْرَج مِنْ طَرِيق أَبِي حَاتِم الرَّازِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِح كَاتِب اللَّيْث عَنْهُ وَقَالَ : يُقَال إِنَّ الْبُخَارِيّ حَمَلَهُ عَنْ عَبْد اللَّه بْن صَال…

I said: Allah's Messenger, the kahins used to tell us about things (unseen) and we found them to be true. Thereupon he said: That is a word pertaining to truth which a jinn snatches and throws into the ear of his friend, and makes an addition of one hundred lies to it.

تِلْكَ الْكَلِمَةُ الْحَقُّ يَخْطَفُهَا الْجِنِّيُّ فَيَقْذِفُهَا فِي أُذُنِ وَلِيِّهِ وَيَزِيدُ فِيهَا مِائَةَ كَذْبَةٍ ‏"
