Narrator:Abu Hurayrah

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ لِي عَنْ أُمَّتِي مَا وَسْوَسَتْ بِهِ صُدُورُهَا، مَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ أَوْ تَكَلَّمْ ‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah has accepted my invocation to forgive what whispers in the hearts of my followers, unless they put it to action or utter it." (See Hadith No. 657 Vol. 8)

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani — Fath al-Bari

قَوْله : ( عَنْ زُرَارَة بْن أَوْفَى ) يَأْتِي فِي الْأَيْمَان وَالنُّذُور بِلَفْظِ " حَدَّثَنَا زُرَارَة " وَهُوَ مِنْ ثِقَات التَّابِعِينَ , كَانَ قَاضِي الْبَصْرَة , وَلَيْسَ لَهُ فِي الْبُخَارِيّ إِلَّا أَحَادِيث يَسِيرَة. قَوْله : ( مَا وَسْوَسَتْ بِهِ صُدُورهَا ) يَأْتِي فِي الطَّلَاق بِلَفْظِ " مَا حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسهَا " وَهُوَ الْمَشْهُور , وَ " صُدُورهَا " فِي أَكْثَر الرِّوَايَات بِالضَّمِّ , وَلِلْأَصِيلِيّ بِالْفَتْحِ عَلَى أَنَّ وَسْوَسَتْ مُضَمَّنٌ مَعْنَى حَدَّثَتْ , وَحَكَى الطَّبَرِيُّ هَذَا الِاخْتِلَاف فِي " حَدَّثَتْ بِهِ أَنْفُسهَا " وَالضَّمّ كَقَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى : ( وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ ). قَوْله : ( مَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ أَوْ تَكَلَّمْ ) وَيَأْتِي ف…

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said : "Allah has forgiven my nation for the evil suggestions of their hearts, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it, and for what they are forced to do."

"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ لأُمَّتِي عَمَّا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ صُدُورُهَا ‏.‏ مَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ بِهِ أَوْ تَتَكَلَّمْ بِهِ وَمَا اسْتُكْرِهُوا عَلَيْهِ ‏"
