Narrator:Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏

ادْفِنُوهُمْ فِي دِمَائِهِمْ ‏"‏‏.‏ ـ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ ـ وَلَمْ يُغَسِّلْهُمْ‏.‏

Narrated Jabir:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bury them (i.e. martyrs) with their blood." (that was) On the day of the Battle of Uhud. He did not get them washed.

حَدِيث جَابِر أَوْرَدَهُ الْمُصَنِّف قَبْل مُخْتَصَرًا بِلَفْظِ " وَلَمْ يُغَسِّلهُمْ " وَاسْتَدَلَّ بِعُمُومِهِ عَلَى أَنَّ الشَّهِيد لَا يُغَسَّل حَتَّى وَلَا الْجُنُب وَالْحَائِض , وَهُوَ الْأَصَحّ عِنْد الشَّافِعِيَّة , وَقِيلَ يُغَسَّل لِلْجَنَابَةِ لَا بِنِيَّةِ غُسْل الْمَيِّت , لِمَا رُوِيَ فِي قِصَّة حَنْظَلَة بْن الرَّاهِب أَنَّ الْمَلَائِكَة غَسَّلَتْهُ يَوْم أُحُد لَمَّا اُسْتُشْهِدَ وَهُوَ جُنُب , وَقِصَّته مَشْهُورَة رَوَاهَا اِبْن إِسْحَق وَغَيْره , وَرَوَى الطَّبَرَانِيّ وَغَيْره مِنْ حَدِيث اِبْن عَبَّاس بِإِسْنَادٍ لَا بَأْس بِهِ عَنْهُ قَالَ " أُصِيبَ حَمْزَة بْن عَبْد الْمُطَّلِب وَحَنْظَلَة بْن الرَّاهِب وَهُمَا جُنُب , فَقَالَ رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَ…

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded to remove weapons and skins from the martyrs of Uhud, and that they should be buried with their blood and clothes.
