حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ

مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْرَأُ فِي شَىْءٍ مِنْ صَلاَةِ اللَّيْلِ جَالِسًا، حَتَّى إِذَا كَبِرَ قَرَأَ جَالِسًا، فَإِذَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ السُّورَةِ ثَلاَثُونَ أَوْ أَرْبَعُونَ آيَةً قَامَ فَقَرَأَهُنَّ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ‏.‏

Narrated `Aisha:

I did not see the Prophet (ﷺ) reciting (the Qur'an) in the night prayer while sitting except when he became old; when he used to recite while sitting, and when thirty or forty verses remained from the Sura, he would get up and recite them and then bow.

Explanation in Arabic

قالت عائشة رضي الله عنها: لم أرَ النبيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي صلاةً من الليل وهو جالس، فلما أسنَّ وكبِر كبّر ودخل في الصلاة قرأ جالسًا، فإذا تبقى له من السورة ثلاثون أو أربعون آية قام من جلوسه فقرأ الآيات، ثم ركع، فيجوز أن يصلي الإنسان النافلة بعضها قائمًا وبعضها قاعدًا، وفيه رد على من اشترط على من افتتح النافلة قاعدًا، أن يركع قاعدًا، أو قائمًا أن يركع قائمًا.

  • جواز الصلاة قاعدًا في النافلة مع القدرة على القيام.
  • حرص النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على الصلاة قائمًا، حتى إذا كبر وأسن صلى قاعدًا.
  • الرد على من اشترط على من افتتح النافلة قاعدًا، أن يركع قاعدًا، أو قائمًا أن يركع قائمًا.

قَوْله : ( عَنْ هِشَام ) هُوَ اِبْن عُرْوَة. قَوْله : ( حَتَّى إِذَا كَبِرَ ) بَيَّنَتْ حَفْصَة أَنَّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ قَبْل مَوْته بِعَامٍ , وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَ بَيَان ذَلِكَ مَعَ كَثِير مِنْ فَوَائِده فِي آخِر بَاب مِنْ أَبْوَاب التَّقْصِير. قَوْله : ( فَإِذَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ السُّورَة ثَلَاثِينَ أَوْ أَرْبَعُونَ آيَة قَامَ فَقَرَأَهُنَّ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ ) فِيهِ رَدّ عَلَى مَنْ اِشْتَرَطَ عَلَى مَنْ اِفْتَتَحَ النَّافِلَة قَاعِدًا أَنْ يَرْكَع قَاعِدًا , أَوْ قَائِمًا أَنْ يَرْكَع قَائِمًا , وَهُوَ مَحْكِيّ عَنْ أَشْهَب وَبَعْض الْحَنَفِيَّة. وَالْحُجَّة فِيهِ مَا رَوَاهُ مُسْلِم وَغَيْره مِنْ طَرِيق عَبْد اللَّه بْن شَقِيق عَنْ عَائِشَة فِي سُؤَاله لَهَا عَنْ صَلَاة النَّبِيّ صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَ…

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in sitting position (while observing the Tahajjud prayer) and when he intended to bow, he would stand up and recite (for the duration in which) a man (ordinarily) recites forty verses.
