حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا ضِمَامُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ مُوسَى بْنَ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ‏:‏ تَهَادُوا تَحَابُّوا‏.‏

Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:

"Give gifts to one another; you will love one another."

Explanation

The Prophet (ﷺ) encouraged Muslims to exchange gifts with one another, for gifts are among the causes of love and bringing hearts together.

Lessons

  • It is recommended to give gifts, because the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded it.
  • A gift is a cause of love.
  • A person should do everything that brings about affection between himself and others—whether through giving gifts, being gentle in manner, speaking kindly, or showing a cheerful face—as much as he can.

حثَّ النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على أن يَتبادل المسلم مع أخيه المسلم الهَدايا، وأن الهدية من أسباب المحبة وتأليف القلوب.

  • استحباب بَذل الهدية؛ لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أمر بها.
  • الهدية سبب للمحبة.
  • ينبغي للإنسان أن يفعل كل ما فيه جَلْب المودة بينه وبين الناس، سواء في الهدية أو في لِين الجانب أو في الكلام الحسن أو في طلاقة الوجه بقدر استطاعته.
